While discussing with a cabbie about his future, he told that he couldn’t decide between the two paths ahead of him. He had saved up money and was deciding between buying land in his village or buying his own vehicle.

First level triangulation: He needed to grow his monthly income.
So buying a car makes more sense as it increases his immediate take-home (he currently rented a car to run as a cab).
Buying farmland in a remote village doesn’t give a quick multiple even in 3-5 years.

Second level triangulation: He had been an auto mechanic, so knew a lot about cars.
Buying a new car would be more expensive but he could evaluate a used car in depth and would get a better deal compared to someone who didn’t know how to check the used car for problems.

He felt unsure about the used car process.
So I suggested that he could devote at least 10-15 hours on youtube and learn about buying used cars and build up his confidence level.

Triangulation for non-founders and non-whitecollar!
