I’ve been using Reliance’s “India Call” calling cards to call my family back home for a few months now. They started out with excellent prices, quick connectivity and very clear voice calls.
However, over the last few weeks, their call quality has been dropping consistently. I haven’t tested this using any scientific methods or tools. But […]

Personal, Nuisance, Ideas/Work | Tags: Nuisance spam social networking »

This is not directed at any one person … but specifically at the entire groups of people who, come festival season, literally spam their friends on Orkut/LinkedIn/FaceBook/Hi5/[put-your-fav-social-network-here] with messages of “Happy Diwali”, “Id Muburak”, “Happy new year”, etc, etc.
I got about 50-75 messages with “Happy Diwali” over the last week on my Orkut scrapbook. I […]

Personal, Nuisance | Tags: Don hindi movie Amitabh Bachchan »

Especially if you have ever, even once seen the classic Don.
It is an irritating watch at best and a piece of crap movie that should have been killed off midway at worst.
The only thing this remake of the movie does is muddy the waters with confusing messages to a generation of kids who grew […]

So, the world as we know it is having huge energy crisis and food shortages and issues with religious fanatics.
What do the western countries go and do? Why, get it’s own pet-dog to head the UN … so this way all UN sanctions against North Korea will be fair and just. Yeah right!
Imagine, whats next? […]

I’ve been trying to invite a few friends to Orkut (Google’s own social network) and noticed a very scary issue …
Orkut (Google) gives an error whenever I try to invite people who have yahoo.com email addresses.
Other addresses, like @njit.edu or @aol.com or even @hotmail.com seem to be working.
So, if this is a real technical bug, […]

When is your car considered an old car?
When you take it to the mechanic, spend a decent percentage of the Cambodian GDP on getting it fixed and drive away stil hearing all the usual creaks, squeaks and screeech’s.
:-(

And no, the mechanic didn’t do a bad job.
It’s just that to get more of the noises […]

What did I get done this weekend?
Well, for starters I tried debugging someone else’s un-friggin-documented code for a shopping cart. This was a done as a last minute favor for a client of an old friend.
Seems that there were some internal management conflicts that left the company with encrypted (pre-compiled) PHP functions. That, coupled with […]

There is a new entrant in the battle to give us our daily dose of literary writings. Your common, everyday everyminute SPAM.
Yes, I know what you are thinking. Spam? How? WTF?
Well … I noticed this over the last few days when a few junk messages were slipping past my spam blocker (the awesome, fully free […]
