Better timelines

I have this thing for timelines. I really get excited when I see data in the form of timelines … maybe it’s because they give me the historical perspective in a clean and quick format.

Google tried it’s hand at timelines (read my previous post)

However, in my search for the perfect timeline tool … this is what I discovered …
Simile maintained at MIT by David François Huynh.

It’s simply the most intuitive method to show so much historical data in a timeline format … check out there sample Dinosaur timeline. Pretty neat.

If I hadn’t found this tool earlier, I would have gone ahead and tried to make something similar … but hey … I’ll just use this cos I love it!
