I once used a 14″ monochrome CRT

I once owned a 14-inch monochrome monitor (remember, CRT? Cathode Ray Tube?). It was the only one I owned.

Then I forced begged my dad to let me upgrade to a HGA capable monitor.
I also got the 386 computer upgraded to a 486 (with a math co-processor, no less) while at it.

Ahh, those were the times, when each pleading word I used ended in a definite increase of computing power.

Today?

Why, I just go get whatever I want … sometimes too many of the “whatevers”

Too many computers, too many LCDs
