Update: Yahoo spam scam to create new (zombie) accounts

1 November 2004 at 2:42 pm | General

The Yahoo spam scam I blogged about here (and created a checker for here) is actually a pretty big deal.
Looks like users who go ahead and click on this link, then are prompted with a Obfuscated image that is pretty much the spammer’s free ticket to getting another free yahoo account.

(yes , I know that is still not the right term for such images, but what is?)

No plans yet for TXGV. I don’t know if I’m still coming up to visit.

This is a captcha-picture. It is used to prevent mass-access by robots. (see: www.captcha.net)

You must read and type the 5 chars within 0..9 and A..F, and submit the form.
